Rare supermoon

Last night we decided to scope out a new location free of telephone poles, wires, and street lights to watch the supermoon rise. We drove to a local high school forgetting that the parking lot was full of stadium lights. We left that spot and headed to a local park. Once we realize we're looking in the wrong direction, we finally spot the big orange Moon rising through the trees. We pulled off the road and ran up in the field to get a few photos. This photo was the best of the bunch.

We were only there a few minutes when we saw the blue lights flashing behind our truck. We could hear the policeman calling in our tag number so yelled to let him know we were coming. He didn't say we had to leave but told us where we could get a closer view. We took the hint and drove to that location but weren't happy with it. Instead we found a small school at the top of a hill so pulled in their parking lot. The hill was a perfect location so we sat there enjoying the view. This photo was taken there.

Unfortunately, we were only there a few minutes when we saw another police car pull up beside our truck. He didn't seem to mind that we were there once he realized what was going on but we decided to just go home at this point. Too many distractions. This photo was taken from our yard. The Moon was bright and clear ... lighting up the neighborhood.
