Near the front of Alexandria National Cemetery, you'll find this monument to four Quartermaster Corps employees -- Peter Carroll, Samuel N. Gosnell, George W. Huntington, and Christopher Farley. These men drowned in the Rappahannock River on April 24, 1865, pursuing John Wilkes Booth following President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.
