I know there are Bluebirds in Virginia, but I rarely see one so felt very lucky yesterday to have spotted two at the end of my visit to the National Marine Corps Museum.

Seems like the only time I get to see a Bluebird is when I visit family in Georgia.

We sat on Mama's porch last night and watched this Bluebird fly between the three houses in her backyard. This morning, it appears that he's settled on this one. I'm happy because now I get to watch him during my visit this week.

I managed to catch this sweet pair last summer while visiting my mother. Wish I could have gotten a close up shot. Unfortunately, we found the female dead in the yard before the week was out. I bought a Bluebird house this weekend and am now on a quest to lure Bluebirds to my own yard. Cross your fingers. Any tips would be appreciated.
