I spent three hours at the Manassas Eagle habitat today. You really don't realize how long you're there until you get back in the car to go home and look at the clock. It's so much fun to watch them.

Manassas eaglets were laying low today
It was very windy today so I wonder if that had anything to do it it. The eagle brought in some dry grass before we left.

Feeding time for Manassas eaglet
I could only see the Manassas Eagle in my lens so was happy to find out I had captured this picture of it feeding the eaglet tonight

Manassas eagle watching today
Spent some time at the Manassas eagle nest today. I had been watching this one in the nest for a half hour when it called its mate home.
It took less than one minute before I saw the other eagle fly in and join it's mate in the tree.
It was pretty cool to watch! I expect to see an eaglet or maybe two in a few weeks.

Manassas Eagles have an eaglet!
Well, I haven't seen an eaglet yet but I stopped by the nest yesterday and witnessed the parents feeding something in the nest. Then I watched one of the eagles as it carefully waddled into the nest as it sat down. I've watched enough eagle cams to know what that means!

Manassas Eagle fly by
We drove over to the Manassas Eagle nest this morning. One was sitting low in the nest, hopefully keeping an egg (or eggs) warm. The other was perched on a tree limb but unfortunately flew off as soon as we parked. We waited a while to see if it would come back but it wasn't meant to be today.

Bye Bye Bao Bao
Bao Bao, the giant panda from National Zoo, left Washington DC for China yesterday. My office happens to view of the toll road the FedEx truck took to get to Dulles Airport so we were able to watch as it passed by. A whole group of us waved bye bye to Bao Bao as she passed by.

Funny shaped fence post
I looked out my back window this morning and thought ... that post looks awful wide ... then I realized it was a hawk. It was clearly looking for breakfast. Every time a smaller bird flew in to one of my feeders, it would get in a crouch stance, ready to pounce.

Manassas Airport Fox
We recently headed over to the Manassas Airport to check on the eagles. They weren't in their habitat so we drove around the airport and spotted these beautiful creatures instead.
