A wink at the moon for Neil Armstrong

To pay tribute to his life, Neil Armstrong's family asked that we "Honor his example, and wink at the moon." So, here's to you Mr. Armstrong ... may many people honor your example of service, accomplishment, and modesty.

May be the last bloom

We're getting ready to add a front porch to our house so dug this rose bush up last weekend. Hopefully it'll survive to go back to it's place in front of the house once the porch is finished.

Hungry squirrel

Sitting on my patio I spotted something large halfway up a tree. From a distance it looked like the chest and tail feathers of the hawk that's been hanging around our yard. The zoom on my camera proved otherwise though. This squirrel had carried a slice of bread from my yard up into my neighbor's tree and was pigging out. It was cute.

Orange Holomelina Moth

I spotted this fuzzy orange moth a week ago. As best I can tell from a Google search, it's an Orange Holomelina Moth. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
