Manassas Eagle habitat invasion

Thanks to social media I'd heard that construction was taking place on the land directly in front of the Manassas Eagle nest so I had to go see for myself. It's hard to see in this photo but the nest is in the tree with the branch off the right side. You can see the large pile of trees already taken down laying directly in front of the nest tree. The nest is located on park property so they won't take that tree down. Unfortunately it's right on the property line. Hopefully it won't be damaged during construction.


There used to be a line of tall trees to the right of the nest but you can see from this photo they're gone now -- probably some of the trees in the photo above. The eagles liked to perch in those trees. I have many photos of them doing just that.


And yes, there was an adult eagle in the nest when these photos were taken today.
