Happy go Lucky

It rained all day last Sunday and I felt so sorry for Lucky. Here he was dry and happy on another day.

My son is teaching himself how to do stained glass. He made this lady bug for me yesterday.

Discovery ... a final flight

Exciting day watching Space Shuttle Discovery today from my office 12 miles from Washington DC. We were fortunate enough to see three different laps around town, including a direct flyover as it headed to Dulles. Wish I'd had my camera. This photo was taken with my iPhone.

Third Cedar Waxwing sighting this year

This is not a great picture but I wanted to share it anyway. My husband and I spent a couple of hours on the patio yesterday enjoying the nice weather. I noticed the yellow tipped tails on two birds that flew into the tree beside us. Then I started hearing the peeping that I now know comes from a Cedar Waxwing. I grabbed my camera and took a couple of pictures before something spooked the two birds. To my surprise, there were at least 10 others that flew away with them! This is my year to see Cedar Waxwing. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more.

Are ladybugs good luck?

Spent the weekend clearing my flowers beds. Spotted lots of ladybugs in the process.

Cedar Waxwing and holly tree

I was lucky to have the opportunity to watch these beautiful birds for the past week.

They were feeding off of this holly tree directly across the street from where I stayed. There were still a lot of berries on the tree so I hated to leave!
